I'm so excited to announce that in January 2025 I will be joining the 7 Works Collective in Newfoundland at the Pouch Cove Foundation artists' residency. I'm already looking for my snow pants!!! This will be our collective's longest residency to date... 1 full month.
Since 1990 the Pouch Cove Foundation has invited artists worldwide to come to Newfoundland and spend 1-3 months creating, no strings attached. They provide each artist with a live/work space for the whole residency period in the small town of 1,500 people, called Pouch Cove.
We are hoping that the East Coast Trail may still be snow-free so that we can get out and taking the ocean views and fresh air. "They" say that the weather there is "unpredictable" so we'll see. -- There may be some storm-watching.
I am preoccupied by the intuitive journey that paint takes me on with its colour and texture when working with layers that can be revealed through scratching back, rubbing away or lifting, to bring back the history of the previous layers.
