In 2020 the 7 Works Collective Artists were accepted into the Toronto Island Gibraltar Point Artscape Artists' Residency program . But, as often happened in 2020, these plans were derailed due to the COVID pandemic. The Artists' Residency attendance in person was cancelled. Therefore the seven artists did their best to adapt to the situation and began regular "meetings" virtually on Zoom to see what we were all working on. During one of these meetings the plan was hatched to set challenges biweekly with art prompts. Each artist showed a work of art in their medium and the remaining 6 artists were challenged to create an art piece in their own medium based on the visual prompt.
As a member of this dynamic group of artists, it kept me motivated to create new work and remain connected to my art community. It was also fun to think outside my usual artistic box and test new styles and methods. Once each work was created, we shared online and talked about our process for creating each piece and what was behind the meaning for each work.
