Collaborative Artist Journals
This quarter I began a new project in partnership with Chéryl Poulin. We have started two collaborative artist journals. We both paint two pages in the journal then we meet for a coffee & a chat, exchange journals and paint two more pages. At the end of this project we'll both have a completed journal full of unique art. Its allowing us to, on a small non-threatening scale, play with new techniques, new imagery and new ideas. Its a wonderful exercise in "the freedom of play". You are invited to follow us as we work through our journals.

More Collaboration My second collaborative project is a Round Robin mixed media painting project with Chéryl Poulin and Debbie Stubinsky-Guthrie. It works very much like the journaling project but this time we are working on 12"x12" canvases. Again if you wish to follow our progress you may do so on this website: cafecanvas.blogspot.com/2010/04/three-artists-in-cafe.html
What's Next? Next is a summer boathouse large format abstract painting project. This summer I'll be spending 2 weeks at the family cottage where I will take over the boathouse, once the boat has been launched. Its a place where no one will complain if I get paint on the floor or the walls. I have a large roll of raw canvas and a gallon of gesso. I'll hit the lumber yard on day one and get an 8x4 sheet of plywood for a painting support. You see I have to paint unstretched canvas since I cannot fit stretched canvases in my little car. Unstretched pieces can be rolled up and stretched once I get home. I'm quite excited about this project and hope I'll be coming home with plenty of new work for the fall "Expressions of Art" show.
