Its a new year and I'm all set for NEW work!
Continuing with "MY" style
Last year I began to feel that I had finally found my style in my new mixed media pieces. Currently I'm working on a set of small and very affordable paintings that incorporate found objects. To me a found object is simply an element of colour, texture, shape and dimension. As well I have discover specialty papers. On a trip to Montreal it was recommended to me to visit a Japanese paper shoppe. WELL its like a candy store for a mixed media artist. My favourite find was their "goody bag" containing all sorts of paper off cuts. I'm building quit the stash of "goodies" for my paintings.
Below are two small 8" x 8" gallery canvases with a number of found objects and embellishments.

Call to Artists
For 2010 I will be looking for 4 new artists to display their work at the West Carleton Family Health Team Clinic in Carp. You will need 4-5 large paintings. Contemporary abstract work is preferred. One painting hangs over the children's' waiting area, so if you have in your collection something fun and colourful for the kids include that in your selection. This past year we did manage to sell one painting and that work interested the buyer in several other painting from the same artist.
