TIE-Lady tries something new

ottawa , ON , 2007: Often a man’s wardrobe is only accented via a little piece of fabric who’s pattern can, in itself, be a masterpiece of exhilarating colour and painstaking design. The Kinburn TIE-LADY has decided to try something new. Just as colourful and just as important to some ladies -- shoes. You’ll usually find mixed media artist, Catherine Gutsche, at her easel painting her famous ties on canvas. Recently she has started to paint an exclusive, one-of-a-kind line of hand painted footwear.

Just as outlandish as her Tie series, her shoes are embellished canvas sneakers with more colours and more patterns than any other shoes you have ever seen. Each pair is different than the next and even within the pair they do not match, they compliment.

Catherine has never been fearful of bright colours or loud patterns. And she is taking great joy in sharing her increasingly numerous, totally original, Funky Footwear series with the public by wearing a pair herself almost everywhere she goes.

Wearable art... wardrobe accents that spark complements, admiration and a bit of a giggle sometimes.

This fall you will find her displaying her shoes in a number of sizes at the West Carleton Arts Society Thanksgiving weekend show & sale at the Agricultural Hall on the Carp Fair Grounds.
