NON REPRESENTATIONAL ABSTRACT ART
My abstract work allows me the opportunity to depart from conventional objects, giving my paint permission to take over and determine my"next steps".
STATEMENT
Nonobjective abstract art frees me from subject matter so that I can completely enjoy spontaneous elements of colour and design. I seldom abstract from specific material objects or physical motifs, instead I prefer to depart from reality and embellish with shape, texture and colour. Nonetheless balance and structure are very important elements in my paintings. The painting process itself is an integral part of my work.
When you view my paintings, set aside preconceived ideas of paintings from the past and step into my world of unconscious enjoyment of the painted surface. Allow the drama of the painterly elements mesh on the canvas and enjoy the emotional end of the visual spectrum.
